Dedicated project focus and exemplary clinical research standards are top priority for Lisa Levine, Ph.D. and her multidisciplinary team. Lisa was interested in a career opportunity that would allow her to leverage her broad research experience when she was recruited into Calypso Medical.
She states, "it has been incredibly rewarding to initiate and complete clinical research projects that ultimately provided the 510(k) FDA marketing clearance for the Calypso® System. The research has been gratifying because the concepts have developed into a product for helping cancer patients." Fergus Quigley, Ph.D.
Director of Transponder Development, Research and Development
Being on the cutting edge of technology is not new to Fergus Quigley, Ph.D. He was recruited to Calypso Medical as a Director of Transponder Development, Research and Development, with over 12 years of significant medical device R & D experience and a successful track record of mentoring research development teams.
When asked why he decided to join the Calypso Medical team, he says, "I enjoy the day-to-day interaction at all levels of the company and I especially appreciate the opportunity to work in very close contact with the Calypso Medical senior management." "In addition, he states, "I enjoy the senior management collaborative product development approach that includes working with key opinion leader physicians." One of Fergus' responsibilities is to recruit a team of top-notch engineers for the next wave of Calypso Medical product development. The primary goal for this new team will be to provide rapid solutions for the development of novel radiation therapy applications for a variety of uses in the body. Fergus continues, "Calypso Medical has such a friendly work environment." I moved from the east coast to work at Calypso Medical which is located in Seattle, WA and I have really enjoyed this new experience." Fergus knows the diversity of living and working in different areas of the world as he is a native of Ireland. He worked in Ireland for a prominent medical device company prior to being recruited to work for the company's United States east coast division.
Manager, Mechanical Engineering
After completing his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and prior to joining Calypso Medical eight years ago, Eric successfully contributed in the development of many medical device products. As a result of his drive and hard work, Eric currently holds three medical device patents as a result of research efforts at Calypso Medical.
Calypso Medical was extremely impressed with Eric’s medical device engineering accomplishments. Eric’s solid engineering background and expertise was required for successful milestone accomplishments during the initial development phases of the Calypso System. Eric shares his thoughts now about joining the Calypso Medical engineering team. "It continues to be very exciting working on projects with this team." He continues, "When I first joined Calypso Medical, during the company start-up period, the product development phases required extreme innovation. Our engineering team continues to thrive on these complex problems and each member of our team is given an incredible amount of project variety including the latitude for independent thinking."
